, who was right next to you just moments ago is no longer there? Most parents have and after walking around the super market or looking everywhere you have been, eventually you find your child. But...what if you didn't?There are nearly 350,000 family abductions each year. That's about 1,000 a day. What if your child was next? Suppose they lost you in the store and went looking for you on their own? What if they ran into a neighbor or a coworker they've met with you? Most abductions are carried out by someone the child knows. You can teach your child to not talk to strangers, but you can't always keep them away from potential abductors.

This was the case in 2006 with five year old Destiny Norton from Salt Lake City, Utah. Her body was found in her neighbor's basement which was less than 100 ft. from her home. This is an unfortunate situation that might have been able to be avoided if the authorities had the opportunity of responding sooner. Certainly time was lost while her parents gathered the information to give to the authorities, but it doesn't have to be.
If your child is actually abducted and the authorities are notified, how much time is wasted getting the necessary information, like what they look like, how tall they are, or how much they weigh? With a child identification card all of the information is stored in the company's database. All the authorities have to have is the password and PIN number to access current photos and information. This can save time and help the authorities get out and looking for your child faster. With most child abductions there is only about a 47% chance the child is still alive after the first 24 hours. The faster the authorities are able to look, higher the chances of your child's safe return.
Abductions aren't the only concerns to parents and they are not the only circumstances that an identification care can be useful. Suppose you are in a car accident and you are unconscious and your child is hurt. Having an identification card which can list all of the child's allergies etc. in case medical assistance must be administered immediately can help save your child's life. In emergency cases such as this having your child's information stored safely in one place it can save you the stress of looking for it.
As parents you want your child to be as safe as possible. The best way to keep them safe is to be prepared for anything, including an abduction. Your children are the most important things in your life and keeping them safe is a priority.
