. Rewards can be in the form of favors, gifts, money or praise. Rewards can be of different type and here we will talk about hard rewards. Reward and bribe are the two tools to use according to the behavior of the children. Reward usually strengthens the good behavior and if no performance is shown, no reward will be paid. Selection of a right reward for your child is of great importance. Reward should be something that encourages your child good behavior. Motivation can be achieved by different means for different people. Time
Time has always been an important factor while dealing your children. Children are always hungry for your time. Time can be used as a great motivator to encourage your children for certain acts. Spare some time from your busy routines for your children and you will see a good positive response from your children.
Money
Money though seems an evil, but it is somehow used as a reward for some children. Money can be used for children over ten year of age. If you have a fixed pocket money for them, add small sum as a productivity bonus for every good task. You need to be careful here that money is always not good for young children so you have to keep a check on the productivity bonus, otherwise you might have found yourself open to extortion.
Privileges
Certain privileges or benefits can be used as a source of motivation for six to eighteen year old children. Privileges can be provided in different forms, but the thing is to get a good behavior from your child. If he has done well, you can allow him to watch television for some extra time, or to talk with his friends on telephone, access to computer, and a later bedtime.
Food
Wandering! How food can be used as a reward? The answer of this question is very simple and straightforward. Let us take an example of a sea lion that does tricks not to please humans, but for the reward in the form of raw fish that he gets after performing those tricks. Same goes for some children. If you can use food to motivate an animal, it is not a bad idea to try it with children.
But you have to keep one thing in mind that the reward should be the healthiest of health food. Food as a reward is more suitable for children under eight year of age. But it can be used for any age. Good, delicious and healthy food should be in any case your top priority.
