Arcade Fire Tickets - Arcade Fire To Embark On U.s. Tour In Support Of Third Album

Arcade Fire fans have been waiting patiently for the Canadian rock band to release its third album

, The Suburbs, and Billboard.com reports that Arcade Fire will not only release the album in August but will also embark on its first U.S. tour in three years. The follow-up to 2007's Neon Bible, The Suburbs will arrive on Aug. 3 via Merge. Arcade Fire once again recruited producer Markus Dravs, who helmed Neon Bible, for The Suburbs and also worked with arranger Owen Pallett.

The Polaris Prize-winning creative force responsible for Final Fantasy, Pallett has worked with Arcade Fire in the past and although the collaboration has yet to get a confirmation, Billboard.com reports that he recently tweeted that he had "just completed 10 days on the best album I've ever had the pleasure of working on."

Arcade Fire's newly-announced batch of U.S. tour dates are in addition to the Canadian outfit's previously announced Lollapalooza Festival gig in Chicago. Arcade Fire will embark on its U.S. tour in Boston, Mass. on Aug. 1 and will stop in Philadelphia, Pa.; New York, N.Y.; Columbia, Md. and Nashville, Tenn. before capping off its road trip in Atlanta, Ga. on Aug. 11.

Spoon will support Arcade Fire for the band's shows in New York, Philly, and Atlanta. Fans can also get Arcade Fire tickets online to see the band perform at Ottawa Bluesfest on July 13 and the Osheaga Music and Arts Festival on July 31. The Suburbs has a hard act to follow, as its predecessor Neon Bible peaked at No. 2 on the Billboard 200 chart in March 2007; according to Nielsen SoundScan, Neon Bible has sold 421,000 copies. Arcade Fire's Will and Win Butler chatted with radio station NPR about the meaning of the band's forthcoming new album, which was inspired by their childhood in Houston, Texas. Win revealed, "Will and I were born in a really small town in California, on the Nevada border. Maybe 50 people on the side of a mountain. We moved to the suburbs of Houston when we were young. Being a very young child, it's like going to Mars or something. The black of hot air when you get off the plane at Houston. Just trying to talk about some of the feeling [on the album]."

Arcade Fire released a double A-side single "The Suburbs"/"Month of May" on a 12-inch vinyl on May 27 but fans will have to wait until August to hear The Suburbs in its entirety. Speaking about the album to NPR, Win added, "A lot of my heroes from Bob Dylan to Joe Strummer were suburban kids who had to pretend they were train-shoppers their whole lives. Talking about an experience and not make-believe [is what we're doing on The Suburbs]." Will chimed in, saying that there were "two poles on the album, maybe have a rock'n'roll thing, then more electronics. The album lies between these extremes."

Win Butler formed Arcade Fire with Regine Chassagne in Montreal in 2003. The duo brought on organist Richard Perry, bassist Tim Kingsbury and Butler's younger brother Will (synthesizer, percussion) and they scored a contract with Merge Records after releasing a promising eponymous EP. The newly-minted band bonded when several members endured deaths in their families and the result was Arcade Fire's aptly titled debut full-length album, Funeral. Released in 2004, Funeral kept Arcade Fire on the road until 2005-including gigs at Coachella and Lollapalooza-and earned the band a Grammy nomination for Best Alternative Music Album. Arcade Fire secured even more success with Neon Bible and The Suburbs is poised to follow suit.
