There are over 6,000 NAPA parts stores throughout the United States and 69 distribution centers. There are also NAPA stores in Canada and Mexico The Genuine Parts Company is the largest member of the NAPA family operating 1,100 stores in 40 states. NAPA also covers services and repairs for 12 months or 12,000 miles, whichever comes first.
NAPA's mission is to educate consumers and provide excellent parts and services. Currently NAPA offers auto care, collision care and truck care. NAPA also boasts a number of ASE certified technicians. Established in 1972, the National Institute for Automotive Service Excellence (ASE), an independent nonprofit automotive group, began to set qualification standards for automotive technicians in order to help consumers choose better quality service for their vehicles. According to ase.com over 400,000 technicians currently hold certification. An individual interested in becoming certified must take an exam, then complete two years of relevant work in order to become certified.
In addition to providing automotive services NAPA also sponsors NASCAR and NHRA racing teams. For the 2009 season NAPA sponsored Michael Waltrip Racing. For that same season NAPA sponsored NHRA Drag Racing and Ron Capps. NAPA also sponsors a number of outdoor programs, futbol teams and PINKS ALL OUT on Speed TV.
