You hear economists all of the time telling working people that they need to stretch
their paychecks and make them go as far as they can, but anyone knows that a dollar does only stretch so far and then it is gone. Usually when the average working person get their paycheck for the week, the money they get can already be spent for on the bills that they have no choice but to pay. This can be very frustrating to know that when payday comes you are going to have no money at all left in your pocket. Sometimes people will even struggle to have enough left for groceries or gas money to get back and forth to work the following week.This is what prompts so many working class people to take on an extra part time or even another full time job. It can take the joy right out of life when all you have to look forward to is clocking it another job after you have finished working at your first one. There is only one way to avoid having to work extra hours every week and that is to lower your standard of living. Some hard workers would laugh at that because they already feel like they have done that.
Of course, there are usually some things you can do that will help a little. Learn to grocery shop a little wiser. It is not possible to live within your means if you eat out even once a week for some people. Learning to cook with cheaper food staples like rice and beans can create some hearty and healthy meals that do not cost a lot.
If you have anything other than the basic package from your cable or satellite company, you should consider down grading to one. Having your television only pick up a basic number of channels is better than no channels at all and it can save you $50.00 or a month on that alone.
If you have an extra room in your home, rent it out. It is important to bring as much money into your home as you can and people with an extra room used to do this all of the time. There are ways to generate a little extra income if you put your mind to and it might not require a lot of work on your part.
For emergencies, you can always use a payday loan or cash advance to get you through until payday. You should only do this if you are really in need because the last thin you want to do is spend extra money if you do not have to, but sometimes a person might not have any choice. Stretching your payday from week to week is a balancing act and it is never easy to keep from tipping the scales.
