The ability to communicate, translate, and share images, videos and more with people from a different continent is something we could have only dreamed of in decades past. The quickness with which we are able to do this adds to the element of mystique that characterizes this powerful tool of our generation. With new advancements in wireless Internet, the possibilities continue to expand, providing new generations with a platform for getting to know one another and the world with a new sense of greatness.The simplicity of making these connections across time and space is remarkable in both its scope and effectiveness. With a mobile air card installed in ones mobile electronic device or laptop computer, instant wireless Internet is within reach. That means tapping into the enormous source of social networking tools and other communication-based programs used for sharing information with people across cultural and physical borders. In some sense, this has enabled people to expand their knowledge of the world and how they interact in it. An increased awareness of language and intercultural relations has taken over with each passing generation. Though some may argue that this has reduced the amount of difference that we notice amongst us, it has also brought more people closer together.
Younger people, more than anyone else, are growing up in the age of mobile broadband. They are effectively leading lifestyles that blend different languages, races, cultures and more in a way that is almost seamless. Sure weve got a long way to go before we can completely abolish the idea of racial and class differences that drive us apart, but it is worth noting that the growing complexity of the web has allowed more people from more distinct backgrounds to come together. Especially for people who get started with social networking services at such an early age, it becomes part of their instinct that they should form relations digitally before they form them in actuality. The lack of judgment that characterizes these social networking services means that few lines are drawn to keep some people out and others in. Like any other new form of technology, 4G and the other wifi providers can only take us so far in terms of how we actually form lasting relations. Real conversation has to be a true desire, and making the most out of the social relationships formed online needs to be taught before it can be practiced. Still, using these connective tools, as a diving board to take full advantage of how we can interact with the rest of the world is something that younger generations are doing more and more; something that we can all learn from.
