What To Do When Your Kids Are At Summer Camp
During the year, your kids take up a lot of your time
. You are shuttling them to and from school. Apart from this you are busy taking them to and from their various extra-curricular activities. You are shopping for them and cooking for them. Putting them to bed and playing games with them. Come the summer, they may go to Summer Camp in which case you suddenly have a whole lot of free time on your hands.The question is what to do with it? The most important thing is not to waste the time. It doesn't matter per say what you do with it as long as it's something productive. Many people like to walk and they now have the ability to go on long walks without having to rush back home. It can also be good exercise.
Speaking of exercise, you now have extra time to go to the gym and workout. You can go many times a week and your body will really appreciate it. It just doesn't have to be walking or working out - you can also go swimming which is quite popular. Another thing you can do is to go for runs.
If the house needs any work done to it, now could be the time. Whether it is the carpets, the walls or the kitchen, with little disruptions, you have the ability to make some changes. You'll find that once you start a project like this you will make good momentum. Your kids may be in for a pleasant surprise when they get home.
Now that you have time for yourself you may wish to have a card or bingo night at your house. There is nothing wrong with inviting your friends to play cards or bingo. You may not do this during the year as you just don't have the block of time when you can do it. Also, you may be worried about making too much noise which is reasonable as bingo nights can get quite noisy.
You may want to go away on your own vacation. You can go camping for a few days. This means going to a store and buying everything you need. Plan some sort of schedule and then go out and do it. It can be a lot of fun especially if you do it with people and you all have the same taste in things.
You may wish to learn a new hobby. You have the time to treat yourself so why shouldn't you? Some people like to learn a new language or take up something like art or pottery. This can be a very rewarding experience.
If you like to go to the movies, you now have the ability to do this more freely. You are constrained by having to come home to make them dinner or to put them to bed by a certain time. You are free to do what you want. This is the advantage of having the free time.
Summary: When the kids go away to camp you now have some extra time. You should make the most of it.
