Nandpur is a unique place of Koraput dist for its ancient history. It is the ancient capital of Jeypore estate. Here visitor can able to see the 'Batri singhasan' which depicts the history of Vikramaditya. The image of Ganapati which is 1.8 meter in height speaks a lot about the heritage of the place and the shrine of Sarbeswara and the inscription on it point to the antiquities of the place.

Koraput is also having the biggest water fall of Orissa named as Duduma water fall. This water fall is also known as 'Matsya Tirtha' having a height of 175meter. Travellers are delighted to this point for its mind blowing beauty with deep greenery. The highest peak of Orissa, Deomali is situated in Koraput. Tourists have a Kodaikanal (Tamilnadu) type feeling at Deomali because of its unparallel beauty. Deomali is well connected by National high way 43. Chief Minister of Orissa Mr. Naveen Patnaik declared Deomali as an eco-tourism project.

The Jagannath temple situated centrally on the hill top is a very beautiful place to tour. As Koraput is a place dominated by the Sabara tribes this place is called as Sabara Srikhetra. Irrespective of caste and creed every year Rath yatra is celebrated here with full joy by all cultural and religious groups. From the temple itself one can see the small Koraput town a bird's eye view. Inside the temple premises all the vesas of Lord Jagannath can be seen at one place. The most beautiful tourist destination of Koraput is the Cave shrine of Lord Shiva which is called as Gupteswar situated on a limestone hill on the bank of river Kolab. In Chatisgarh the Gupteswar is popularly know as" Gupta Kedar". To see the Lingam one has to go up to the hill and then enter into the cave. One unique feature of this place is the large size Shiva lingam inside the cave. Shivaratri and Kartika purnima are the major festivals attracting a large number of visitors from three states Orissa, Andhra Pradesh and Chatisgarh.

One of the very interesting places to tour in Undivided Koraput dist now in Rayagada dist is Devgiri. It is situated in the south west of Kalyan singhpur amidst a green and picturesque landscape rises the bald and sacred Devgiri hill up to a height of 400ft. Visitors are very amused by seeing its peculiarity of having not narrower upwards like other hills but it ends flat rectangular plain of 400 by 100 ft having no trees or bushes. This place has a very interesting story on its part, there is a heap of stone called ' Sukhua khai' dry fish is called Sukhua in Oriya language and it is said that one who eats dry fish will slip down while returning from the top surface. Ganga, Jamuna, Saraswati, Bhargavi and Indradyumna are the five pools of waters which are the rare gifts of nature in this hill and because of this visitors are attracted to this place for touring.

Koraput is also famous for a small village Dumuriput between Koraput and Sunabeda along National highway 43. There is a Ram temple in this village which houses the highest kneeling Hanuman statue in Orissa. During Ram Navami and Hanuman Jayanti this small village attracts a large number of devotees.

Koraput dist is also famous for the Jain site at Subai, the highest broad gauge railway tunnel at Maliguda and the Jeypore palace.
