Situated on the scenic Tsim Sha Tsui waterfront, the museum is divided into two wings, east and west. The former is home to the giant dome of the planetarium beneath which is housed the Stanley Ho Space Theatre. The theatre is home to Asias only Omnimax theatre. The features at this cinema are displayed in vivid High Definition clarity that is bound to mesmerise viewers leaving them in awe of the wonders of the cosmos.

The west wing houses the Hall of Space Science where mans exploits into space are chartered along with the technological enhancements that have arisen as a result. A lecture hall is also present in this wing where authorities in space related fields hold talks and seminars regarding the latest scientific breakthroughs and help raise awareness on space exploration.
