Munnar was once the summer resort of the erstwhile British Government in South India. Munnar has a soothing climate. It is quite cold during winter (December/January). A traveller must take extra woollen garments during heavy winter season. The temperature ranges from 0c to 10c in winter and 15c to 25C in summer. The tourist season in Munnar is from August to May. However, even the monsoons are lovely with many streams and rivulets make the stay in Munnar pleasant.
One can also visit Rajmala on a trip to Munnar. Here a traveller may get the chance to see the rare species Mountain Goat. One can also enjoy a walk in the spectacular Tea meadows. Boating in Mattupetty Dam is another exciting activity that one can indulge in.
