The Commandments Will Teach Our Children How to Be Happy
If Children Learn To Live The Commandments They Will Be Happy
At the Special Olympics several of the children were in a race. The gun went off and they each started running. Before long, one of the little girl's fell down. When the other children saw that she had fallen, they turned around and ran back to her. They all helped her up and held hands and ran across the finish line, together.
In another race, the gun went off all and the children started to run. When one of the boys got to the finish line, he stopped and let his friend Johnny pass him and win the race. When they asked him why he did that, he said: "I already have a metal but Johnny doesn't and he needs a metal too, so I let him go first!
How were these children like Jesus?
They were kind. They were thoughtful. They thought of the other person before they thought of themselves. They were loving. They were giving. They were like Jesus!
We all need to be like Jesus. Do you think these children were happy when the other person won? Yes they were. Why? They had love in their hearts for the their friends.
These young people lived the most important commandment Jesus taught us. What is the first and most important commandment?
1. We must Love the Lord our God and love our neighbors as ourselves. We are taught to love others.!!!! Why is loving others the most important commandment?
Because Jesus said that we must love others, and we want to obey him?
Why do you think he told us we should love others?
Because when we love others we are happy and so are they. What does serving others mean? It means to do kind things for others, help them. and care for them.
How can we live this greatest commandment in our lives?
We can love others.
We can be obedient.
We can be kind.
We can look out for others
We can do secret acts of kindness. They are only secret to the one that we do the kindness too, because God sees everything you do and it makes God happy.
Doing good to others also makes us better, and happier people.
You can never be kind to someone else without finding happiness yourself.
Jesus commanded us to do many others things, besides to love each other.

THE TEN COMMANDMENTS
1. WE MUST LOVE GOD
2. WE SHOULD NOT MAKE ANY GRAVEN IMAGE
This means we should not worship anything or anyone but God. We cannot worship money or things we own or want to own. We only worship Heavenly-Father and Jesus. We don't waist our time on foolish things that mean nothing. We spend our time being obedient to Heavenly Father and obeying the commandments Jesus taught.
3. WE MUST NOT TAKE THE NAME OF THE LORD IN VAIN
This means not swearing or saying bad words. Why did Jesus tell we should not do this?
It is a commandment. And God loves us and knows what's best for us. Every time we obey Jesus, there is a blessing connected to it, if you are obedient. If you do no obey you do not get the blessing and because God doesn't want Satan to destroy us.
When we say bad words, when we swear we defile ourselves. We make ourselves less than we can be. We make ourselves vulgar, not godly; we are not like Jesus. When we swear, say bad works- we don't love ourselves and we don't love God. Would Jesus ever say bad words? No. And we want to be like Jesus
4. WE MUST KEEP THE SABBATH DAY HOLY. This means to make Sunday a special, spiritual day. Sunday is a day when we go to Church, when we pray, when we learn the word of God. It is a special day to care for others and a day to only do good things, which would make Jesus happy.
5.WE MUST HONOR OUR FATHER AND MOTHER Why should we do this? !. It is a commandment and God loves us and knows what's best for us. When we honor our parents, we honor God, because our parents are his children just like we are and he loves them. When we honor our parents, we respect them, even when we have parents that may not live the way God wants us to. We must love them anyway and try to be good examples to them so they can find God too. Sometimes our goodness will help them learn to be good too. We must pray for them and Jesus will give you help to do what you should. If you honor your parents you obey them, are kind to them and make them proud of you. Do you think Jesus was kind to his parents? Yes he loved them very much and we want to be like Jesus.
6. WE MUST NOT KILL We know that this is bad and we would never do anything so bad.
7. WE MUST NOT COMMIT ADULTERY This is a commandment older people understand but it is a commandment to help us be happy. This commandment means that we respect our bodies and other people's bodies too. We keep our bodies clean. Our bodies were made to have children, which is a gift given to us by God and we only use this gift when we are married.
8. WE MUST NOT STEAL Why? Because God loves us. God wants us to be happy. When we are dishonest we are never happy. Wickedness never brings happiness. I see kids at juvenile hall, locked up, because they were dishonest. They stole things and now they have their freedom taken away. If you have done bad things, how do you fix it? You tell God you are sorry and you will never do the bad thing again. This is called repentance. You try to make up to the person you hurt. Why would Jesus tell us not to steal? Because when we steal we loose our freedom. We have guilt to live with. We are not happy.
9. WE MUST NOT BEAR FALSE WITNESS which means we should not tell lies.
Telling lies is about the worst thing you can do. You never want to tell lies about another person. You will hurt them but you will also hurt yourself. When you tell lies Jesus knows it so you don't get away with it and when you break the commandments you aren't worthy for the blessings that he has to give to you when you do obey him.
10. WE MUST NOT COVET. What does covet mean? It's when you want what someone else has. When you are jealous. What does coveting someone or being jealous of him or her do to you? It makes you unhappy. You are never content with what you have. How you do stop coveting others things? You become grateful for what you do have! You become happy for other people and the things that they have and for the gifts God has blessed them with.
Living the Ten Commandments can make us happy and we will make Jesus happy too.
Remember the 10 commandments - put in simple words
1. We must love God
2. We must only worship God
3. We must not take The Lords Name in Vain
4. We must honor our parents
5. We must not kill
6. We must keep Sunday Holy
7. We must be morally clean
8. We must not steal
9. We must not tell lies
10. We must not covet.
Why should we do these things?
1.Because they are commandments
2.Because God loves us
3.Because God knows what's best
4.Because God wants to bless us
5.Because we want to be like Jesus
6.Because we don't want Satan to destroy us.
Remember the story of the children in the race. They let someone else win the race. They loved others more than themselves, like Jesus. Be like them.
