Anaheim, California is a very popular destination for vacations
. With its great weather, many exciting attractions, and beautiful beaches, it is the perfect spot to have a fabulous time.Whether you are coming alone, with friends, or with family, you are sure to find plenty to do. One of the biggest draws and most popular attractions in Anaheim is of course, Disneyland.
This theme park is known all over the world and claims to be the "happiest place on earth." Just across from Disneyland is Disney's California Adventure.
This is another exciting attraction with plenty to do for all age groups. This park celebrates the rich heritage of California.
After riding rides you can spend time meeting Disney characters or getting a bite to eat at one of the themed restaurants. Also while in the Disney area of Anaheim you may want to take a stroll through Downtown Disney.
This stretch of shops is like an outdoor mall. The shops sell clothes, souvenirs and more.
There are also some fun restaurants in this area including Rainforest Cafe and ESPN Zone. If you enjoyed the Disney theme parks, you may also have a fun time at Knott's Berry Farm.
This theme park is America's oldest and features more than 165 rides, shows and attractions. One last theme park in the area is Legoland.
Enjoy more than 50 rides and attractions, all Lego-themed. This Legoland also features the world's only Legoland Water Park, which is another major draw to the area and the perfect activity for a warm summer's day.
If you have kids, there is a smaller theme park in the area called Adventure City. It is very affordable and has rides for younger children to enjoy.
It also features an arcade and a petting zoo. Also while in Anaheim you will want to visit the beach.
A few beaches that are just a short drive away are Huntington Beach, Newport Beach, and Laguna Beach. All located in Orange County, these are some of the most scenic beaches in California.
If you are visiting during the summer you may want to get in the water for a swim or a surfing trip. During the other seasons the water is pretty cold, but the beaches are still a great place for beautiful views, walks in the sand, tide pool exploration, and sea shell hunts.
One other thing to do at the beach is go on a whale or dolphin viewing trip. Many different companies around the beach offer these types of tours.
Take a boat ride out on the water and view these beautiful creatures of the sea. If you enjoy learning about history you may want to visit the Mission San Juan Capistrano, which will give you a little more insight into California's history.
This Mission was founded in 1776 and still stands today. The mission has lush gardens, museum rooms, and koi-filled fountains.
If you love the outdoors then Yorba Regional Park is a great spot for you. This fun park has playgrounds for children, lakes for fishing, and trails for biking or walking.
Anaheim is also home to a few museums you may find of interest. The Bowers Museum exhibits art from all over the world.
The Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum features plenty about this past U.S. president and a replica of the White House East Room. The Discovery Science Center is more of a hands-on museum where guests are able to interact as they learn.
For those looking for some speed two places to check out are K1 Speed Irvine and Speed Zone. Both of these parks feature race tracks for go kart racing.
Speed Zone also has two mini golf courses. Lastly, if you love sports, then don't miss out on an Angel's baseball game while in Anaheim.
The stadium also features three different restaurants. It is sure to be a great time for any sports lover.
As you can see, there is so much to do in Anaheim! Many people instantly think of Disneyland when they think of Anaheim, but this great city has plenty more to offer.
