Rihanna Tickets - Opening Up 'rated R' For Tour

Though rumors have Rihanna's name swirling around paparazzi rooms regarding

her recent engagement to boyfriend Matt Kemp, it's her updated summer tour schedule that really has people talking. The Barbados pop songstress recently announced summer dates in support of her album Rated R, which was released in November last year.

The platinum selling album isn't the only thing earning her attention, but also her choice of openers. Controversial pop star Ke$ha and new rapper Nicki Minaj will be joining her on tour, reported LiveDaily. The Last Girl on Earth Tour has been hailed as her biggest concert to date, hitting North American cities from July to August. "We've never done a tour to this capacity," Rihanna said to AOL. "The production is unbelievable and the costumes, we just took it to a whole new level. Visually and sonically it's going to be a big step up from last time. We just keep growing and this time it is a massive production that I cannot wait for." Don't wait another minute to get Rihanna tickets online.

Though the show doesn't start until the summer, Rihanna is already heating things up this year as she continues to see press for her fourth studio album. As the third consecutive platinum set from the Barbados native, the album has already seen success with the Billboard singles "Rude Boy" and "Russian Roulette." The effort is a step in a seriously dark direction following 2007's Good Girl Gone Bad, as Rihanna continues to connect with the physical assault of ex-boyfriend Chris Brown.

The Def Jam album discusses dark topics like death, harsh breakup revenges and low blows like "Can you get it up?" of "Rude Boy." While she might never produce an album that doesn't give music critics the chance to connect her brutal bashing, Rihanna easily owns Rated R with powerful lyrics and what will also be a powerful tour.

It would be hard-pressed to say Rihanna has kept the same fans she first garnered when she appeared on Def Jam's 2005 debut Music of the Sun. The young star stuck to urban pop on her first record, singing dance club favorites like "Pon de Replay" and "Here I Go Again." The tunes were playful and didn't go too deep with its lyrics about love and dancing. The next album A Girl Like Me didn't take things too much further, as Rihanna rode the urban pop wave with singles like "SOS" and "Unfaithful," tunes that were catchy and often overplayed.

It wasn't just the haircut that redefined Rihanna (she trimmed her flowing golden locks to a dark bob). Good Girl Gone Bad featured some harder hits like "Shut up and Drive" and "Rehab." For many music critics, though, it was the album's star power rather than the decidedly cliche pop singles that were the real change. Many of Rihanna's former island roots and reggae beats were lost in the club popping hits like "Umbrella" and "Don't Stop the Music." So when 2009's Rated R appeared featuring an even harsher looking Rihanna on the cover, few could accept that the devil inside Rihanna would finally appear with the fourth studio set. Though still covering her basics, Rihanna's dark anthems appear on her singles like "Rude Boy," "Hard" and "Russian Roulette."
