Pavement Tickets - Reuniting For Country's Rock Festivals

They might not be Vampire Weekend, but veteran indie rock crooners Pavement are following

in the steps of today's hottest indie outfit with performances throughout the country. First, Pavement hits the Fox Theater, then they take on Coachella 2010 followed by the Hollywood Bowl. While each venue consecutively gets bigger, as does Pavement's 2010 tour, these punk icons are going to continue to promote until the last song is sung. In the mood for some classic hipsters? Check online today for some Pavement tickets, where you'll be sure to find everything you're looking for.

"It's been a long time coming," Scott "Spiral Stairs" Kannberg said to Rolling Stone way back in September about the new tour and reunion. "I think in the back of our minds, we always thought we'd do something again. But we never really talked about it until the last couple of months. It's come together fast." Who wouldn't want to get another taste of some great classic punk rock, as festivals like Indio's Coachella quickly picked up the reunited band as did Toronto Island Festival and Sasquatch! Though the dates remain sporadic through the summer months, the quintet will gear up to fifth by the fall, as September sees a full fledging of dates.

2010 will mark a year that the group announced its return to music, though during the official announcement they also made sure to remind fans this reunion would only last 365 days. While all five musicians are eager to get back to work, the group probably won't ever get the chance to see such success as they did with the close-to-mainstream hit "Cut Your Hair." Though the originators of lo-fi indie rock aren't too concerned about making yet another powerful impact on the music industry, they are fighting back the excitement to take down cities like St. Paul, Philadelphia, Boston, New York and others.

Almost always beating to their own drum, Pavement was conceptualized by Stephen Malkums and Scott Kannberg during the '80s, though a full band didn't develop until nearly a decade later. The duo eventually employed some former hippies to keep their sound dramatically groovy as they began earning themselves a name with underground rock fans. With the surprise hit "Cut Your Hair," Pavement started to reel in their funk as the tune made the Top 10 on modern rock and MTV charts. The group never concerned themselves much with numbers or sales and so quickly fell back into the familiar wave of indie cult rock following that early '90s hit. Pavement returned with the third Wowee Zowee and then Brighten the Corners. The latter was nothing more than a punk-rock sound reminiscent of Pavement's first few records, but got rave reviews both stoically and commercially putting the full-length within America's Top 70 for the year. After another full-length set that was largely hailed as the work of Malkmus' solo propositions, the group announced its split in 1999. During the "hiatus" each member worked on their own musical efforts that have kept them busy since 2009.
