Unless you have been living under a rock for the past few months

, you are likely aware that flame-haired funnyman Conan O'Brien is no longer hosting NBC's Tonight Show. The former Late Night with Conan O'Brien and short-lived Tonight Show host is barred from appearing on television until September (according to terms of his exit deal from the network) and decided to make the best of his crummy situation with a live tour dubbed The Legally Prohibited From being Funny on Television Tour, according to Pollstar.com.

While Jay Leno has returned to his Tonight Show roost on NBC, Conan O'Brien can be seen on his Legally Prohibited from Being Funny on Television Tour this spring and summer. O'Brien launched his 30-date tour from Eugene, Ore. on April 12 and will be stopping in U.S. and Canadian cities like Vancouver, BC; Spokane, Wash.; San Francisco, Calif.; San Diego, Calif.; Las Vegas, Nev.; Boulder, Colo.; Dallas, Texas; Tulsa, Okla.; Chicago, Ill.; Atlantic City, N.J.; New York, N.Y.; Boston, Mass. and more during his two-month trek. Once he wraps up his road trip, Conan O'Brien will return to the small screen. Although rumor had it he would announce plans to appear on Fox, Rolling Stone reported on April 12 that he picked TBS over Fox. The "Very Funny" network will add O'Brien to its lineup starting in November. O'Brien tweeted the news saying, "The good news: will be going a show on TBS starting in November! The bad news: I'll be playing Rudy on the all new Cosby Show." O'Brien also joked via a press release, "In three months I've gone from network television to Twitter to performing live in theaters, and now I'm headed to basic cable. My plan is working perfectly."

O'Brien's motivation for touring doesn't come from a shortage of cash, as the former writer for The Simpsons received a $32 million payout when he chose to leave NBC rather than move his show to the less-attractive midnight time slot to make room for Jay Leno. O'Brien is predicted to refrain from the jokes made at the expense of NBC that categorized his finals days on the network and will instead perform that monologues and sketches that made him a cult favorite while hosting Late Night with Conan O'Brien. Once sketch that Conan won't perform, however, is his popular bit with Triumph, the Insult Comic Dog-he reportedly surrendered the rights to Triumph to NBC.

When announcing plans to hit the road, the six-foot-plus funnyman said in his signature self-deprecating humor, "It was either a massive 30-city tour or start helping out around the house." The news release promised each show to be a "night of music, comedy, hugging and the occasional awkward silence," and while O'Brien declined all interviews on the tour, he did update his Twitter with postings like the following, which he tweeted on April 8: "4 days to my first show. Eugene Oregon brace yourself for a towering tsunami of dry, self-deprecating humor."
