Lionel Richie Tickets - 'just Go' To His December Concert!

His last name might get tons of tabloid headlines thanks to his adopted daughter Nicole Richie

, a well-known socialite and actress who starred in television's The Simple Life with best friend Paris Hilton and is married to Good Charlotte frontman Joel Madden, but it was Richie's soft ballads and sweet lyrics from decades ago that got her there.

While Richie isn't currently on tour, his last being the international treat of 2009 and first in several years, Richie remains in the news and on radio stations thanks to his classics from the Commodores and the newest Richie creation, Just Go. Since the May 2009 release, Lionel Richie has been promoting the record with interviews, performances and more, making Lionel Richie tickets a must-have this season.

This December the admired singer will perform some of his infamous tunes at the Hard Rock Live at the Seminole Hard Rock Hotel and Casino. The show, set for Dec. 13, will have Richie performing classic singles hits like "Hello," "Dancing on the Ceiling" and "Endless Love," as well as Commodores tracks including "Easy" and "Three Times a Lady." The contemporary entertainer has been performing in front of audiences for years, so performing a special holiday date is sure to be a sweet treat for many fans that have yet to see this veteran performer onstage.

Born June 20, 1949 in Tuskege, Alabama, Richie was raised on Tuskegee Institute's campus where his family had worked for years. Richie naturally attended the school before joining the soul-pop outfit the Commodores, a Motown effort that went on to become one of the most successful groups of the '70s. Richie took on the role as saxophonist, vocalist and songwriter, penning some of the quartet's most well known hits including "Easy," "Three Times a Lady" and "Still." The group, which had toured with the Jackson 5 and earned status thanks to its early '70s scheduling, found success instantly with "Machine Gun." The Top 10 single paved the way for mainstream promotion, as the group's third single "Slippery When Wet" reached the top of the charts. Lionel Richie Tickets - 'just Go' To His December Concert!

When Lionel Richie sang a 1981 duet with Diana Ross ("Endless Love"), both Richie and the group realized his solo potential and soon saw his departure. It wasn't long before Richie returned to this studio for a lone effort via Motown. The self-titled set was released in 1982 and gave Richie unprecedented success. The four million seller garnered five top hits that was only brought to "shame" by his next album, Can't Slow Down.

The record released just a year later saw Richie's international and crossover success skyrocket, and over 15 million international copies of Can't Slow Down have sold since while the singles became Richie's signature tunes. "All Night Long" remains a staple piece for each tour not only since the album picked up a Grammy Award, but also because it was featured in the closing ceremonies at the Summer Olympic Games that year in Los Angeles.

Already over a decade into his solo career, Richie wasn't slowly down any time soon. Soon after the rampant success of Can't Slow Down, he helped pen the international anthem "We Are the World" with Michael Jackson. The hit was unlike anything every produced, incorporating 45 international artists and earning five Grammy Awards in 1985. Since then, Richie has remained a constant presence on the R&B and contemporary adult markets, with seven more albums since and iconic status to boot.
