When the contents of the stomach are thicker, they are less likely to be regurgitated. As far as using Gaviscon as an infant reflux treatment, it should be done so with caution. A side-effect of this is known to be constipation which can increase other problems. Unless your baby's reflux is pretty severe, this medication should be avoided.

Ranitidine

This medication is commonly known as Zantac. It is also a popular medication for treating acid reflux symptoms because it blocks the production of stomach acid. When we digest food, it is natural to produce stomach acid. As it can be the acid that causes the pain, the drug is a good baby reflux treatment.

These are some of the most common medications that are used for infant reflux treatment. These drugs must be prescribed by a doctor. There are over the counter medications, but these are not recommended for the treatment of babies. For an effective infant reflux treatment, take your baby to see a doctor.
