Many parents want to guard their child from questionable content

There are ways of finding out what is in the movie so that you can know if it is safe for your child.Ratings are a good starting point, but ratings are not enough. These give you general age range for whom the movie is appropriate for, but it does not give you an idea of what's in the movie. Even if age appropriate, you as a parent might not want your child seeing certain images or themes.
One way of figuring this out, is to use some of the popular movie review sites on the internet. There are generic ones and sites made for moms, to learn about what is in a movie. Some are so precise that you get how many minutes of questionable content or language is in the movie, giving you almost an exact idea of what your child would be viewing.
Do not discount your friends' recommendations. If they have seen movies that their children have loved, consider those to be good movies. Ask any questions about what is in the movie and those parents can tell you all about it.
Another strategy is to simply rent or watch the movie first to get an idea about what is in it. There might be things that you are looking for as a parent that others are not as concerned about. Since it is your child and you are the parent, you have the better idea about what you feel is appropriate and what is not appropriate.
With all the information out today on movies, it is much easier to go through this process now than it was in the past.
