Summer is the time of the year to get out and about and really make the most of the warm days and pleasant evenings, and that also means that there are lots of opportunities to explore your wardrobe and put together some beautiful clothing pieces to create summer outfits for all occasions.
Picnic in the park
There's nothing better than spending an afternoon enjoying a sunny day with a bite to eat al fresco style. It's most likely to be a casual day so go for something comfortable and easy to wear as well as being lightweight. A pair of straight leg jeans, three quarters or linen trousers (not white!) are probably the best option, team with a vest top or camisole and bring a lightweight cardigan just in case it gets a bit chilly later on. If it's really hot then take a nice sun hat and some sunglasses to keep those rays at bay and don't forget the sun cream.
Day at the races
It's time to go all out glamour if you're heading to a day at the races in summer. Make a real impressed and choose a beautifully fitted dress to show off your shape or a pretty floaty number for a more feminine style. Don't forget some elegant shoes either, a slingback or strappy sandal will probably work best and of course there's the accessories go for some stand out jewellery and to really get into the race day feeling a fascinator or hat is a must.

This is an occasion when an outfit to take from day to night is essential because you may want to continue the celebrations through the evening in style. Linen trousers are great for a garden party, especially white, wear with a pretty blouse or simple vest, and don't forget a little cardigan. If the occasion is a bit more formal then choose a nice dress with a floral print. When it comes to shoes, stick to some versatile flat strappy sandals with sequins or jewels.

An invitation to a summer wedding is the perfect chance to pull out that lovely dress you've had in your wardrobe all year. A floaty dress or a maxi dress will work well as a wedding guest outfit, but remember to avoid white or matching with the colour scheme of the day. Comfortable but stylish shoes are a must, as is a nice jacket or a shrug.

As it's such a special day you'll want to feel and look great, so it's the perfect time to treat yourself to a whole new outfit, but don't forget that you'll also need to be comfortable and something that you can wear from day through to night.
