Dry Skin Cures, or Treatment And Prevention

Dry skin is a common condition. Dry skin is a chronic skin illness that frequently affects millions of people all over the world. Dry skin is usually a result of failure to replace the naturally lost moisture from the skin surface. Most dry skin is the direct result of environmental factors such as a poor hygiene regimine, poor diet, unhealthy habits such as smoking, and/or overexposure to harsh elements such as strong sun or wind. Dry skin could be due to a genetic condition. Certain drugs, including diuretics, antispasmodics, and antihistamines, can contribute to dry skin.

Medical conditions such as allergies, eczema, psoriasis, and dermatitis can also be responsible for dry skin. Dry skin caused by these factors will likely effect in mild to moderate itching, redness, flaking, peeling, and overall irritation. To get rid of this problem in the first place, it is important to understand what causes dry skin (that is why you have dry skin) to occur. Moisturize regularly to get rid of your dry skin. Moisturize dry skin daily (or multiple times a day) with gentle lotions, creams, and soaps containing ingredients like cocoa butter, shea butter, olive oil, honey, palm oil, and petroleum jelly.

Sunlight, water and air play an important role in keeping the skin healthy. Dry skin can be converted into well skin using natural home remedies. There are certain foods that can help you improve your dry skin from inside out. Try to gorge food products that have essential omega 3 fats. Eat more fresh fruits and vegetables, drink lots of water and take some vitamins as well. There are some very simple and basic things you can do. Avoid junk food as much as possible. Avoid soaps and chemicals containing harsh chemical ingredients, and use a soft cotton washcloth instead of an abrasive loofa or scrub brush.

Don't scrub at your skin while washing; use a washcloth or your hands to softly pat your skin with soapy water and rinse. Skip the spa & make a homemade salt scrub to get rid of that nasty dead skin. Wash your skin gently to keep it healthy, and prevent it from drying. Don't wash your hands too often though because it can also encourage dry skin. Taking a shower in warm-hot water can also do you some good. Buying skin care products for exfoliating your skin is also a good idea. These products will help you get rid of your old skin cells, and smooth out the new ones. They help get rid of build-up of dead skin which can lead to dry skin.
