? If you have, obviously they are willing to offer you big, fat profit margins and excellent communication. And of course, they have a host of high quality products from which you can select, and only market ones that are going to be relevant to the niche you intend to sell to. Obviously, trying to sell baby clothes to people who have neither homes nor families is a waste of time, just as trying to sell fitness equipment to unfit people is just unnecessary wear on your keyboard and your patience. You know that certain people are going to want certain things. The trick is in making sure that your drop shipper respects this.
First off, a lot of people start out looking for a drop shipper who will make a web site for them. This is a mistake on a couple of fronts. For one thing, most drop shippers are in the business of producing and or warehousing products" not building web sites! For another thing, the more the drop shipping company does on their own, the less they are going to need you to help them sell their products. The more you do (at least, when you're initially setting up the business), the more useful you'll be, and the more money you will be able to make. They call this the "wanting it tax," and it's prevalent in every aspect of life. While you can find a drop shipper that will make you a web site, this is just not a good idea.
After all, if a drop shipper makes web sites, they won't be of the kind of quality you will find from a dedicated web design company. These will be generic, "ho hum" web sites that may or may not allow you to customize a lot of very important variables that could either make or break your sales effort. And this goes a whole lot further than just what colors you use, or whether you have a particular font for links versus regular writing. There are a whole host of things that an experienced web designer tends to do automatically, that someone who is just using a pre-fab form or "winging it" will not be likely to think of.
For one thing, will they be using their own servers, or a third party? What kind of up time can you expect? And while we're on the subject of the site itself, will they allow you to have a custom domain name? The right domain name can rocket you upward in the search engines" which can take you from "what's that site?" to "what a site!" The subtle differences can be the difference between making lots of money, and making practically nothing. You will also need to consider whether the drop shipper's site would allow you to write your own ad copy" the right keywords, and the right way of saying something will draw buyers (and draw them back). The wrong ones... and you'll be seeing some lovely tumbleweeds rolling across your site.
