Didn't Get The Nanny Job

Didn't Get The Nanny Job

Nannies are the type of people that love kids. If you get a job as a nanny, it means that the people who are hiring you trust you and trust that you'll do a good job with their kids. Some employers who hire nanny's also hire them as a live in nanny. In case the employer you're interviewing with ask you if you wouldn't mind living there with them, you should be able to pick up and move all your stuff over there.

When you go on an interview to meet an employer and the kids you'll be watching, you may want to come prepared and it will help if you have other nanny experience as well. Even baby-sitting experience will help if you're a young adult just starting out on your own and trying to land your first job. You would want to bring your resume with references and even any recommendation letters you have from either previous employers or previous people you have baby-sat for.

Education is also an important part of your resume. You want to make sure your resume is completely up to date and you didn't leave anything out. The employers would be more interested in seeing what you went or what you're going to school for. You may have a master's degree in child psychology or you could be going for an elementary school teacher or maybe even a nurse. If they see that you're going to school to be a nurse, they see that you have potential because if anything were to happen to their child while you were on the job, then you would know what to do. Those are the kinds of education careers they look for before the hire you.

Also having CPR certification is a plus because if their child were to choke, you would know what to do in that situation as well. It's also a good thing to have worked in a daycare before. You want them to know you have experience with different age groups and you also have experience having a bunch of kids in one room. You never know they may have ten kids and that's why they need to hire a full time nanny to help out this family of twelve.Didn't Get The Nanny Job

You also want to make sure that when you're interviewing, you don't have any obligations in your way. For instance, you may be renting an apartment and have to wait until the lease is up before you can move anywhere or you may be living with your boyfriend at the moment. He might get a little worried when you move out to move into someone else's home you don't even know.Didn't Get The Nanny Job

During the interview if they end up taking you on a tour of the house and introducing you to the children, then that could be a good sign. Although that may be a good sign you still don't want to get your hopes up. They could be doing that on every interview they have and may even be taking mental notes on how you react with the children.

If they show you around their house and introduce you to the kids, you don't want to do anything a nanny wouldn't do. The whole time you're interacting with the kids you want to be thinking to yourself by thinking what the employers would want from you and you would want to do everything they may ask of you later.

Having a great attitude is the number one purpose for getting this nanny job that you really want. You want to walk in with all smiles on your face even if your grandmother died earlier that day you can't let the employers show how sad you are. If you get a chance to meet with the children, you want to be as energetic as you possibly can be.
