Co-workers are tense and your manager is grumpy, morale is at an all time low. Something's going on. Word is going around and you may be afraid that you're losing your job. There are at least two sides to most situations. Losing your job is one of those tough life incidents. It could be a blessing in disguise or it may be the worst thing that could happen to you.
