Conversational Hypnosis And Your Kids

Conversational Hypnosis And Your Kids

It's at the end of a very long and tiring day and you hear yourself slipping

into the same familiar refrain, "You better do what I say right now because I say you have to." You're having an argument with your kids again!

Wouldn't you want to do away with all of this and get them to do what you want immediately and without question? Of course you can, and you can take a few hints from conversational hypnosis to make sure that they listen to you.

The first thing you have to understand is that the kids are tired, and so are you. Once you've established that you're in a frame of mind where your tempers can get more than a little easily frayed, then you can consciously set your patience level higher and keep your tone of voice calm and level.

That said, conversational hypnosis is not a magic pill to make your children follow your every wish. The mind is something that no one can control completely, but it's one way you can persuade them to do what you want with the least amount of arguments.

The first thing to do is agree with something that they are saying. You don't need to agree with their point of view, just acknowledge the fact that they are saying it. For example, if they're arguing that they can play online games on the computer and get their homework done at the same time, just say, "I agree with what you're saying and..."

Notice that you're not agreeing with their point but the fact that they said something. Putting an "and" in the sentence allows you to go where you want. "And, you need to finish your homework first." Steer the conversation in the direction you want it to go so they will have to agree with you next.

End your answer with the question, "How would you feel..." So, after saying that they have to finish their homework, ask, "How would you feel if you had to stay in after class tomorrow just because you didn't do your homework?"

Paint a mental picture in their heads about what would happen if they didn't do what you asked. More often than not, that gets them to agree with you. Sounds like an ordinary conversation, right? Yes it is, its just that you've practiced the rudiments of conversational hypnosis on your child.
