In a world with depleting standards many teens feel great pressure to have sex in today's world. Many idolized characters and celebrities are sending the wrong message to teenagers with performances in pop culture such as the show The Real World and Juno.
The Real World goes as far as to say that it is "real" or normal to participate in coed housing and drunken mistakes day after day. However, that is irresponsible and not an accurate representation of the majority of American families.

It is great to see the rewards that follow from such good examples. It is good to see something uplifting becoming a fad in Hollywood rather than another detrimental form of behavior.

She feels it is a great way to say her morals and how she believes it is right to live. She has also said that it gives her street credibility that would otherwise be impossible.
Pressure is on the rise to have sex, according to Hilary Duff who admits that it is a difficult commitment to stay clean. Especially as you get older, there is more pressure as your boyfriends and girlfriends are older, but it is important to stand your ground and state your morals.
That is where a purity ring can come into play. They are there as a beacon that you have made promises that are important enough to you to wear on your hand.
Of course the temptation will always be there, but it is about making correct, wholesome choices and placing yourself in safe situations while avoiding dangerous, risky ones full of pressure and unclean atmospheres.
It is great that purity rings are reaching the fingers of celebrities who are so idolized by young crowds. Hopefully today's crowds can do better than their forefront leader Britney Spears who also had one, but failed to represent its standards.
This only goes to show that the decision is the most important part and the courage to keep promises to yourself. The ring just tells others what you have decided.
