Forcing the bristles of toothbrush on gums may damage your gums.

Second, while holding your toothbrush parallel to your teeth, you should clean your teeth horizontally in such a way that the bristles of your toothbrush do not touch your gums. Make sure that you clean each and every tooth. One should also clean the backward region of teeth. Brushing of teeth should be done only for 2 or 3 minutes. Brushing teeth for more time may damage the gums and enamel of teeth.

Third, along with cleaning your teeth, you should also clean your tongue and inside skin of cheeks with a brush. However, it is important to brush the cheeks and tongue in a very gentle manner otherwise they may be damaged. Fourth, after brushing your teeth, you should rinse off your mouth with cool and fresh water. This will help In cleaning any food particles which might be stuck in between your teeth.

In order to brush teeth properly, you should have the right kind of toothbrush and toothpaste. You can ask for a dentist's advice with regards to toothbrush and toothpaste. According to your teeth, your dentist would prescribe the best toothbrush and toothpaste for you. It is also a good notion to ask for the right brushing technique from the dentist. You would be able to take better care of your teeth by following the above steps.
