The Amazon is the biggest rain forest in the world

One quarter of the entire world's bird species flutter, flicker, and wade here; just about 2,000 varieties of butterflies brush the air in the midst of the mahogany, balsam and sapucaia trees of the forest canopy. All over the place, there are marmosets, squirrel monkeys, parrots and toucans.The renowned and celebrated Amazon is one of the planet's mysteries. It is the world's biggest river basin, and also the planet's supreme rainforest. Uakari Lodge, to be found near the tiny city of Tefe is strategically located off a tributary of the Solimoes River making it the best place to view the loads of wildlife- birds, monkeys, caiman, dolphins, fish and a lot more. Its 5 floating cabins promises close touch with nature at all times.
The Amazonat and the Uakari are very good Tourism Ecolodges which offer enlightening and cheap support to numerous small communities in the adjacent area. The majority of the employees are Caboclos or local natives who are learning a specific trade. Services provided at these Lodges are intended to allow the Caboclos to perk up their lives while presenting visitors a more natural location. Therefore, some services provided may not be at international hotel standing.
