Kovalam is a mall village on the Malabar Coast in the state of Kerala. This town came into picture and became a favorite tourist destination when some of its marvelous beaches were found.
Now Kovalam is one of the most sought after holiday destination where one can have fun one the amazing beaches. The word Kovalam means a thicket of coconut trees. The coconut trees grow here in large number along the sea beaches and give the most striking look. The viewers get awestruck to see the beauty and serenity of the place.

The endless water of Arabian Sea which is stretched for miles and the white sand spread all over the beaches makes this land a living heaven. Here one can see the stalwart palms and rocky peninsula. Hawah beach is situated in the middle of the village. The beach is thronged by the local fishermen. Samudra is the northern most beach of the village and generally remained unaffected.
The travelers can enjoy the performance by the Kathakali performers in the evening. This is the well known classical dance of Kerala which are admired and enjoyed by the tourists.
