Rota is a small summer town situated towards the Southwest coast in Spain. This beautiful town lies just across the Cadiz bay. With a rich history that dates back to Phoenician times, the town is a perfect holiday destination. Rota is halfway between Portuguese border and Gibraltar. The calm environment and serenity of the town is beyond some definition and a large number of tourists in search of peace and tranquility during the warmer months in order to relax and spend time in various beach resorts that are present here.
You must carry a valid passport, bathing suits, sunscreen and sufficient funds along with you in order to enjoy your vacations in Rota. In case you are from a Schengen country you do not require a visa to travel to Rota. Also if you belong to Australia, US, Israel, Canada, Japan and New Zealand, you do not require visa for stay that is less than 90 days. Citizens of all other country have to carry their visa along.

Rota has a lot to see and experience beyond the shore. Castillo de Luna is a 13th century building that attracts a lot of visitors. Similarly Iglesia de la O and fortress walls that surrounds the entire city should also be checked out. Do savor a hearty Spanish meal from one of the Rota's restaurants and bars. Do taste a glass of tintilla, which is the local wine in Rota.
Reaching Rota is not very tough. The airport Jerez de la Frontera is just 15 mile away. The airport is home to international as well as domestic flights. You may also use train service if you are travelling from somewhere within the country.
