Volkswagen Touareg Wins 2011 Motorist Choice Award
Volkswagen was presented with a 2011 Motorist Choice Award recently by IntelliChoice and AutoPacific at the Orange County International Auto Show
. Held at the Anaheim Convention Center in Southern California, the Orange County International Auto Show brings together automotive enthusiasts from around the world to share and learn about the latest automotive technologies and models from the top vehicle manufacturers like Volkswagen.
2011 VW Touareg is High Tech Winner
Volkswagen was presented with the 2011 Motorist Choice Award in the High Tech category for the VW Touareg. Featuring a teched-out cabin that would excite any gadget guru, the VW Touareg definitely delivers innovative technology. With a touchscreen navigation system featuring 3-D landmarks, a touchscreen audio system, and a 620 watt Dynaudio sound system, the driver has everything he or she needs for an enjoyable at the touch of a finger.
Bluetooth technology is also available along with a hybrid system interface. The VW Touareg also features an intelligent crash response system to keep the passengers safer in the event of an accident. Best of all, this is all available starting at just $43,000.
Deciding the Winners
To determine the winners, IntelliChoice and AutoPacific pool their research, data, and vehicle information and carefully analyze the results. IntelliChoice researches and monitors the cost of ownership for over 1800 model trims over a five-year time period. AutoPacific gathers consumer feedback through the largest owner satisfaction survey in the United States.
Just last year alone, they gathered over 72,000 surveys from 2011 car buyers. By combining the consumer responses and ratings, and the financial data for vehicle costs, fuel economy, and resale value, the team is able to determine the overall winners for each of the 15 unique categories.
With so much excitement around such a myriad of vehicles, the Orange County International Auto Show was the ideal event to announce this year's Motorist Choice Awards. Featuring 15 categories including Fun to Drive, Kid Friendly, Eco-Friendly, Youthful, and Luxury Lifestyle, the Motorist Choice Awards give drivers insight into the highest consumer-ranked cars on the market today.
Orange County International Auto Show Events
In addition to showcasing the newest trucks, cars, and exotic rides, the Orange County International Auto Show also gives event participants a hands-on way to learn more about their favorite brands and models. From the interactive test drive sessions featuring over 40 cars from various manufacturers to exciting meet and greet opportunities with famous drivers, engineers, and celebrities, there are fun events throughout the weekend.
