Your are not a child now Dalip Singh Wasan, Advocate. Oh my child, you have crossed the age of twelve and therefore, you are now in teenage and have already crossed your childhood. You have entered into the age group which could be taken as the foundation of your manhood and now you must be alive to the situations facing you. You shall be a man of tomorrow and therefore, you must have firm and well laid foundations for your life. You shall have to think on all the items which shall make you a successful man of tomorrow. You shall have to look on the education and training side and at the same time you shall have to choose your career at this age because for each career there is a separate of set of subjects and people with those subjects only shall be getting admission in training institutions and therefore, you must understand that mere getting through the annual examination shall not be enough. You shall have to see that you are meritorious and getting very high marks and if you fail, you would be a frustrated lot and there shall be very few entries for you. Therefore, this is the period when you shall have be to be very serious. Today there are so many occupations and trades for you and even fields of specialization are there. You are to choose a career where people are in short supply and where there is already rush of people, you would be a frustrated lot because India is passing through a period of unemployment and you should ensure that you may not be a person registered with the Employment Exchange for decades before you get a call letter from them and when you are overage. You are having parents who are helping you and they have got expectations from you and at the same time you too would be having a family of your own and you too shall be having children and their responsibilities and therefore, all these situations must be in your mind when you are passing through this teenage i.e. from thirteen to nineteen years. You must consult your Vocational Guidance teacher and that is not available in your school and college, such people are available in the local Employment Exchange and you can get time from him and must consult him so that you can know the work market here in India and also abroad. They are having lists of training institutions and they shall also be guiding you as to whether you are a fit person for a particular job or that job is not as per your interest and aptitude. You must know also about the future job opportunities and the wages attached to those wages and it shall be better if you are trained with the money from your parents and if you are not having any hope from the parents, some financial institutions are there who can help you with returnable money. There are people who shall guide and shall help you and therefore, it is for you to plan your career at this stage and only then people shall be available to help you. Oh my child, please read this item and must prepare yourself for the challenges before you. This world is not a bed of roses and we shall have to struggle for setting ourselves in life.
