What to do in London this autumn?
There is always plenty to do and see in London whatever time of the year it is
. The biggest trouble you will have is deciding what to do. If you visiting for a weekend you will be able to fit more in but really you will need to come back time and time again to see all of what this great City has to offer.So what to do, where to visit? The choice is endless really. If it's your first trip to London you will probably want to see all the famous landmarks. First on your list should be to make sure you watch is in sync with the most famous clock in the world Big Ben. Buckingham Palace will also be on your list which is the residences of Her Majesty the Queen. Another famous palace is Kensington where the late Princess Diana resided. If you want to see the whole of London in one go you want to visit the London Eye. It's the largest observation wheel in the world. London's top attraction is the Tower of London. This was built by William the Conqueror after the Norman Conquest. It was a palace, then prison and execution yard. Here you can see the British Crown Jewels including the Imperial State Crown which is work over 27 million.
If you're looking for a day out and have to watch your pocket you could visit one of the many museums which are free to enter. You might think museums are not that exciting, but these days museums are not what they used to be. Plus there are so many to choose from. You have the Imperial War Museum, the Science Museum, the British Museum, V&A, the Design Museum, the Tate Modern and the Natural History Museum. Museums' have to try that bit harder to get people in so put on some fantastic demonstrations which will suit the whole family. It's about fun for the whole family and you will also be learning about the culture of this wonderful city.
If you're a lover of the arts you could visit one of the many west end shows that are showing. Currently you can see Aspects of Love' at the Menier Chocolate Factory. The music is by Andrew Lloyd Webber and its based on a novel by David Garnett. It tells of a story of passion, love and loss across three generations in the 1940's in France and Italy. At the Little Angel Theatre you could see Fantastic Mr Fox' which is based on one of Roald Dahl's books. Great for the whole family but a real treat for kids.
Music lovers will find plenty at the theatres this Autumn. Rock lovers will be totally blown away by the Queen Musical We will rock you' which is playing at the Dominion Theatre. You would be able to sit quietly, it really is a good story nothing to do with the band queen but it incorporates all of the Queens best music. Written by Ben Elton, this really will rock you. Dirty Dancing' is another great musical playing at the Aldwych Theatre. With all the best music from the film and some great dancing this will take you back to the time when the film first came out and became the cult classic that it is today. Finally Michael Jackson music fans should head down to the Lyric theatre where Thriller Live' is a celebration of Michael Jacksons music going right back to the early days with his brothers in the Jackson 5.
You will never be at a loss at what do in London anytime of the year. The hardest part is choosing what to do! You don't have to spend a fortune and if you want to make a night of it you could always stay in one of London's budget hotels.
