While staying at the hotel, there are several things to take note of:

Water: Do not drink tap water for hotels, because it is not drinkable. The electric boiler will be provided for safe-drinking water. If not available, you can ask for boiled water in room service. Bottled water is also available and can be purchased for $ 0.25 to 0.75 U.S. dollars per bottle. Steamed or mineral water is also readily available.

Mobile phones: Both GSM and CDMA networks operate in China, China Mobile and China Unicom, respectively. So you can use a dual-or tri-band mobile phone, or simply use a Cosmote card. However, if you want to cut costs, you can buy a GSM SIM card.
