Wart Treatment

When infected with warts, the only thing you probably want to do is to get rid of them. Warts treatment has been beneficial for all the good reasons; not only do they cure warts but they further help in preventing warts in the future as well. However, you must choose the safest and the most effective treatment from the innumerable options that are available today.

As warts have become a very common problem, many ways to treat warts have evolved over time. The options today include different range of medications, surgical procedures and natural treatments. The efficacy of these treatments have been tried and tested, which makes them efficient in treating the conditions from their roots.

Some of the common ways to Treat Warts are:

Over-the-Counter Treatments

The over-the-counter treatment for warts includes different types of ointments and creams for improving the condition and curing the warts. It works towards treating the virus that has caused the infection.

Along with over-the-counter medications, doctor's often recommend the use of oral medications for speeding up the process or cure.

Freezing Therapy or Cyrotherapy

Cyrotherapy is one of the most commonly used methods of removing warts. This therapy is carried out with the use of liquid nitrogen for destroying the wart by freezing it. The treatment is conducted under the supervision of an expert as it can be slightly painful. It is one of the most effective treatments to cure warts, although repeated session of treatments might be required for improving the condition.

Freezing is carried out by causing a blister under and around the warts. This makes the dead tissues to peel off within a period of 7 days. Local anesthesia is often required in case of treating large sized warts. There is one risk factor to be considered while treating warts using cyrotherapy, it might damage the nail beds and the nerves around the treated area permanently.

Laser Surgery

Laser surgery is nowadays considered to be an effective warts treatment. It is only used to treat the toughest warts. It is an expensive surgery that might leave behind scars.

Minor Warts Surgery

This surgery involves the cutting of wart tissues or destroying the same by using an eclectic needle in the process called electrodessication or curettage. The surgery requires anesthesia and often leaves scar mark post surgery. This surgery is reserved for tough warts that have not responded well to the minor surgeries or other warts treatments.

Retinoid

Retinoids are basically the derivatives of vitamin A. these medications can disrupt the growth of the skin cells on which the warts have developed. Doctors often prescribe retinoid creams and ointments to prevent the growth of warts and to improve the condition as well.

It is often very tough to get rid of common warts permanently. However, using any of these methods, you might notice remarkable changes in the condition over time. There is no one-approach treatment for warts; it is usually a combination of different treatment options together to relieve the conditions and to prevent the same.
