Kefalonia is the largest Ionian island situated in western Greece. It holds a population of about 45,000 and it occupies a total area of about 302 square miles. Argostoli is the capital city of Kefalonia. Another major town in the island of Kefalonia is Lixouri. The island is said to be a repository of resorts. This is primarily the reason for the large number of tourists drawn by the destination.
