Traveling To The Australian Gold Coast
Known as party central of Australia, this thin area bordering the Indian Ocean is
the favored destination of tourists seeking fun in the sun and a rocking nightlife while Down Under.Located on the southeastern corner of Queensland, it is located between Brisbane and New South Wales. The area has become a large urban sprawl populated by over half a million individuals. While there are many residential areas in the city, the main destination while in the Gold Coast is the area between Paradise Point and Tweed Heads, particularly the region known as Surfer's Paradise.
Surfer's Paradise is home to over thirty beaches stretching a total distance of 40 kms. The beachhead is patrolled by volunteer professional lifeguards, with marked yellow and red flags for tourists to see which are safe for swimming and which ones are to be avoided. Between these flags are areas patrolled by these lifeguards for swimmers while surfers are allowed to rip the curls outside the flags.
This area is also known as a tourist hub and tourist trap all at once. The most packed area is Cavill Avenue where bars and other tourist habitues are located. For surfers, Broadbeach is the place to be aside from the actual paradise. There are far fewer surfers in this area compared to Surfer's Paradise.
Aside from the beaches, there are many other places to go to while in the Gold Coast. There are a number of theme parks in the area, often with tourist discounts for the family's enjoyment. There is the Currumbin Wildlife Sanctuary where local fauna such as koalas, kangaroos, birds and reptiles can be viewed in their natural habitats. There is also SeaWorld for shows and showcases on sharks, dolphins, penguins and polar bears. There are also a number of water parks for fun in the water, such as WhiteWater World and Wet'n'Wild. These water parks have pools, slides and watering holes for all ages. For a more land-based activity, there is the Tropical Fruit World, a plantation orchard with a tour of the grounds, shows as well as free tasting of fruits in season.
A visit to Gold Coast provides many options for all ages. For the sun worshipper, there are over thirty beaches to choose from in the area. For the surfer, a number of sites where the waves are gnarly can be the adrenaline location.
