Tourist attractions in Madrid

Looking for something interesting in Madrid? Here I have made an attempt to describe the tourist places of Madrid which I enjoyed most while traveling to Madrid. This should be able to give you some good idea about the city and how further to plan your trip.

Retiro Park - Plaza de Independencia = It is very beautiful oasis at the walking distance from the main attractions of the city centre, "situated at the East centre of Madrid". It is an important part of the life of the people of Madrid, arranging an environment of peace in this busy city. Within the park boundaries there are several cafe bars where you will always get a chance/pleasure of listening to the many talented musicians bringing a relaxation.

It is very popular on Sunday mornings when people turn up for spending leisure times "jogging, reading paper on benches, or sitting in caf and others rowing around the lake in rented boats".

2. Prado Museum- Street: Paseo del Prado: The Prado is one of the worlds most famous art museums, containing higher concentration of masterpieces than any other museum in the world "making it Madrid's premier tourist attraction.

Before planning visit to Prado Museum do check the weekly 'Guia de Ocio' magazine. This magazine features details of any special exhibitions that might be happening during your visit. Also it is more intelligent to take a private tour of the Prado Museum accompained by a licensed English speaking tour guide. Together with visiting the museum you can also get the chance to see the Royal Palace.

3. El Rastro - Street: Ribera de Curtidores and adjacent streets: El Rastro is an enormous outdoor market in Madrid, with various attractions for tourists, along with value items of the Madrid culture, accessories, clothes and more. The ideal time for marketing at this place is mornings as it starts getting busy as the hours pass, making it a slow moving crowd. Here you can buy all sort of stuffs CDs, Kitched appliances, home decorations, and a lot more.

Do not forget to carry your Camera whilst on your walkabout. You will get to see a lot more attractive places than I could describe here.
