Jim Corbett National Park is the India's first and the world's eminent wild life sanctuary and national park stationed in the foot hills of the holy Himalayas. It well known for tiger reserve. It is located in the beauteous town Ramnagar (Nainital) in the state of Uttrakhand. It establish in the year of 1936.it obtain its name from" COLONEL JIM CORBETT" a conservationist. It was prior to known as "Hailey national park". It had 520.82 square km area of hills, marshy depressions, Grass land, Riverine belts (Ramganga, kosi, sonsnadi sots etc) dense forest of saal, haldu, papal, rohini and mango trees, and beautiful lakes. The sanctuary is shelter of 448 plant, 50 mammals and 25 reptile and number of bird's species.
Jim Corbett is a locale lap of the Mother Nature means peace, eye catching beauty and Spiritual feeling. Its main allurements are Bengal tiger, and the Asian elephant. Apart from them five kind of deer(barking, samber ,black bulk , hog, chital), Himalayan black bear, Indian gray mangoos, otter, leopards , large number of birds ( pond heron crested hawk ,eagle booted , hawk Eagle, kestrel, black partridge), ghoral (goat antelopes), Indian pangolins, langur, rhesus etc. There are many attractions for adventure seeking people like canter safari, elephant safari, jungle safari, fishing and angling in Corbett.
