Daman and Diu :
Daman lies about 15kms off Vapi along the Mumbai Ahmedabad highway. Not many people know about the beauty of this Union Territory of Daman and Diu. The Daman-Ganga river divides the town in half. The southern part of the city is known as Moti(Big) Daman and the northern part known as Nani(Little)Daman.
Moti Daman is an old Portuguese area where the government buildings and old churches are located. A large wall surrounds it. And Nani Daman consists of most of the hotels of the city. The roads are very well maintained.

This place has gained prominence because of its transparently clear seas, where on a fairly sunny day, one can see the sea- bed up to a depth of 20 feet. This beach can be rightly called as Queen Beach' of Sindhudurg.

It is the headquarters of Sohra Civil Sub-Division and falls in East Khasi Hills District of the Indian State of Meghalaya. 98% of the annual rainfall at Cherrapunjee is received in just eight months from March to October.
