It was against India that Tom made his international debut in the late 80s. He will be remembered for bowling the last over against India in a crucial World Cup game in 1992, denying India the much needed victory. Four years ago, he was a frontrunner for the India coachs role, a position he narrowly missed when Greg Chappell took over; Tom went on to coach Sri Lanka successfully and only a mighty Australian side denied him the 2007 World Cup title as Coach.
