There is no doubt that Boston has a lot to offer, regardless of whether you are going there for a long weekend or a week or two.
Trying to keep the kids happy on any kind of break can be a real challenge. Unless of course you have something like the Boston Children's Museum to keep them entertained.
The word museum' might put you off initially, but you shouldn't let it because this is a museum that is unlike many others. Perhaps the sight of a huge milk bottle outside the museum will give you an idea of what awaits you inside. This is a very different venue, as the forty foot bottle will attest to.
But this is outside what will you find once you get past the entrance? And more to the point, will the kids enjoy it?
There are four floors to explore and you should certainly think about setting the whole day aside to make sure you enjoy them all. Once the kids get inside you will probably have a hard time pulling them out again.
There are countless exhibits here and they all have intriguing and exciting names. Typical examples include Boston Black, the New Balance Climb and Peep's World. The New Balance Climb takes over three storeys of the building and basically provides younger children with a modern and exciting place to climb all over and explore. The website calls this a 3D full body puzzle', which should give you some idea of what the kids can expect.
There are different exhibits over time as well, so depending on when you go to the Boston Children's Museum you might find something new there to look for. This helps to keep the museum fresh. With that said though, every single exhibit and activity here is designed to focus on the needs and loves of all children. It certainly does a good job of getting it just right.
Parents will also get a lot out of their time at the museum. There is plenty that the adults can get involved with too, either with their child or simply to see how things work. This is definitely a very different kind of museum experience to anything you will have had before. In fact you may find you want to come back more than once to really make the most of it.
