Adding polka dots to the walls of any child's room makes them instantly fun. Using a neutral color on the walls, find a template in the size or sizes you desire for the dots. For example, you can use a bowl, a plastic lid, a trash can or literally anything that is round, to trace the dots on your walls. You can make the dots all one size or different sizes, and you can paint them as many different colors as you wish. You can place the dots randomly on the wall, or you can create a dotted chair rail all around the room. You can even give a few of the dots expressive faces - happy, surprised or even sad.

You can cover all of the walls with the wallpaper, or you can use it to simply cover a focal wall with dots. You can even create a huge 'connect the dot' graphic on your child's wall. Use one of their activity books for ideas, and you may even want to let your child help you actually connect the dots.

Using polka dots to decorate your furniture is a lively way to furnish your child's bedroom. Think about adding a polka dotted beanbag chair or covering a table and chair set with lots of dots. You can even use dot decals to add polka dots to furniture very quickly and easily. Find upholstery fabric covered in polka dots and use it for chair cushions and curtains. You can also make your own dotted fabric by sewing on a collection of dots.
