The Hollywood Christmas Parade A Tremendous Celebration Of Festive Spirit

, Hollywood pulls out all the stops with its annual mega parade. The Hollywood Christmas Parade takes place on two of the major roads Hollywood and Sunset Boulevards. Crowds fill the street on either side as both visitors and locals alike come together to witness this amazing spectacle. With bright colours and glittering costumes combined with an uproar of sound the festival truly brings the streets to life each year.Started in 1978 this parade has been held every year since in November and is a popular part of the Christmas festivities. Originally called the Santa Claus Parade it was eventually renamed The Hollywood Christmas Parade.
The Parade is usually a star studded affair with music and film stars as well as other prominent figures taking part. The 2008 festival included the late David Carradine of Kung Fu and Kill Bill fame, Neal McDonough (Desperate Housewives) as well as legendary astronaut Buzz Aldrin.
The Hollywood Christmas Parade is a lively affair that is enjoyed equally by both the young and the old. Featuring musical bands, celebrities in open air antique cars, marching bands, live cartoon characters, twelve equestrian groups and much more, the parade is quite the spectacle. But you cant forget the main centrepiece which Santa Claus is riding, an 18 foot tall and 62 foot long float that makes up the end of the parade.
Spectators have the option of either standing or opting for the Grandstand seats which run all the way from the beginning of the parade to Highland Avenue. These seats provide a raised position from which to look upon the parade.
