Teeth Whitening And How To Keep That Youthful Look

Teeth whitening or dental bleaching is the process to clean ones teeth

. Our teeth are the most white when we are infant. As we grow up, our teeth gradually loose the clean and brilliant white look because of mineral dropping and some other criteria. Basically this is one of the aging processes. Our teeth can also become darker by formation of dark or yellowish stains because of tobacco use and frequent consumption of some kinds of antibiotics.

Methods

There are many ways to restore the beauty of clean teeth. The common methods include bleaching strips, bleaching gels, and bleaching pen, bleaching through mouthwash and laser bleaching. Dental bleaching finds its extensive use in general dentistry although these are more common in cosmetic dentistry. For home uses generally bleaching gels are used.

Commonly teeth whitening may be done in 2 ways: using high-concentration agent and using low-concentration agent. The former one can be performed whether in supervision of a dentist or at home. This method is performed by applying the high-concentration agent (such as a mixture of 15% carbon peroxide and 3-10% hydrogen peroxide concentration) on teeth through thin synthetic trays.

This method is both cost-effective and efficient. The other method, the low-concentration method, uses less than 10% hydrogen peroxide concentration and is typically far less effective than its high-concentration counterpart and is generally carried out at home.

There is also laser bleaching method where the energy of light particles is used in order to make ones teeth sparkling white again. This method is always carried over under dentist supervision. This form of whitening can use many kinds of energy in its process such as halogen, LED or plasma.

Ill-effects

The typical ill effects of dental bleaching are chemical burns for gel (in case a high-concentration gel accidentally touches an unprotected tissue), over bleaching (leading to over white teeth) and sensitive teeth. Also there can be other problems such as slight reduce of tooth enamel, or permanent change in tooth colour etc., although these ill-effectives are terribly common, so nothing to worry.

Keeping a very clean set of teeth are most commonly seen as a social advantage. You certainly look good in your white-most teeth. With all the teeth whitening products available, you can look good in any social and professional area by making your teeth look the best.

Most common forms of dental bleaching can harm you one way or the other. So it is best to be prepared in case of any side effect while using the products at home. While it is true that home methods save time, money and energy; it is also true that if you can, always do it form a dental clinic.
