Suzuki run Marathon to raise money for Charity!
Fleet World magazine organise the MPG Marathon every year, the aim of the marathon is to identify the vehicle which gives the most miles per gallon under every day driving conditions. This year the marathon ran 380 miles from Ettington in Stratford upon Avon. The route includes motorways, dual carriageways and A roads. The magazine took 34 vehicles on this marathon, amongst which was a new Suzuki Swift.
The new Suzuki Swift 1.2 with Dual VVT 94ps petrol engine won the marathon, it was driven by Western Group Regional journalist Dave Moss and Community driving instructor Mike Hull; it achieved an overall fuel consumption figure of 68.10mpg which is 20.5% more than the manufacturer stated 56.5mpg.
Suzuki are obviously very chuffed with this results, their Senior Director of Sales and Marketing David Seward commented "The 2010 MPG Marathon has again been an excellent opportunity to showcase Suzuki's commitment to producing fuel efficient, cleaner cars and this event has certainly endorsed that."
The all new Suzuki Swift is one of the cleanest petrol cars, it has emissions of just 116g/gm, and it also offers low running costs due to its kindness to the environment. Annual road fund license costs only 30, and is cheap to insure as it is only in group 8E.
