Stansted Taxi Review
I travel to and from Stansted from my London base about 16 times a year and so I
believe I feel I am well qualified to offer up this Stansted taxi review. I have used over a hundred different transfer companies in my time, but I wanted to summarise here a list of firms that have a strong web presence and those which I believe can offer you a great service. I am not linked to any of the companies.
Stansted Airport, operated by BAA, hosts one taxi company in the main terminal building. Checkers Cars operate a large fleet of 6 seater vehicles which are both modern and well equipped. If you want a service that is quick and easy then Checkers are on hand to help you. My only respectful issue is the prices they charge, owing to their need to pay for being able to pick people up at the airport, are high. A journey price of over 100 into London.
I have often used Stansted Airport Taxis & Chauffeurs. They are not located in the terminal building but do offer cheaper rates and meet you in the airport arrivals area with a nameboard, useful, if like me, you prefer to met by your driver.
Stansted Taxis have a strong web presence, will offer you online email quotes and once again run a fleet of 6 seater and executive vehicles. A good, solid choice.
Stansted Airport Cars are located next to the old terminal building and offer a quality service. They are not the cheapest but their cars are nicely presented, very clearly sign written and the drivers I have experienced are well attired and smart. Once again a guide price to London is just over 100.
If you are based in London like me I have researched reliable companies and can recommend
Stansted London taxis for their great value fares, clean cars and easy to use web site. Once again, the London firms can provide you with great value services assuming you like to be met in the main terminal upon arrival.
Travelling to Cambridge or Oxford? No problem, I have researched these also and believe that
Stansted Cambridge Taxis can offer you a value, but quality service from Stansted. I even had a bottle of water offered to me on my last trip back to Cambridge which was a nice touch!
For travellers coming to London for the first time I believe it will be important for you to book the right hotel, restaurants and airport transfer service to ensure that you enjoy a safe, convenient and good value service from Stansted Airport.
