Bust. This measurement is taken over the fullest part of your body - chest and back.

You can take your measurements with clothes on. Take both metric measurements and measurements in inches. Use whole numbers and round up to the nearest whole number rather than down.
You will also want to measure your feet if you are shopping for shoes.
Now that you have your measurements, you are ready to shop. Some websites will show you a fitting chart. If the online women's boutique you are shopping at does not have a size chart, look at an article of clothing you already have in your closet that fits well and purchase the same size. Find the best fitting shirt, jeans, dress, and shoe sizes from items you own and record it on a piece of paper to refer to as you shop online. Sizes are often determined by a woman's measurement and knowing your measurement can help you determine the correct size. Next, if the website allows you, narrow your search by size. This will help you zero in on what is in stock for you so that you dont become disappointed if you find something you love and the store doesnt carry it.
Next, check the store's return policy. Not having the opportunity to try clothes on, you want the option of returning it if it doesn't fit right. Once you have determined the store's return policy, remember to print out receipts of your orders to keep on hand just in case you need to make a return.
