And speaking of time, it is that last minute kind of time that everyone is working off of in these last weeks of the year. No matter how much preparation any one person or family makes, there will always be that one gift that they forgot or that one more thing they wanted to have shipped to reach someone in time for the end of the year celebrations of Chanukah, Christmas, Kwanzaa or even New Year's Eve.

Each shipping company has its own services and specifications for how they get their customers' packages to the desired destinations nationally or internationally, with applicable service charges. The difference between these options is definitely the amount of time given for delivery, but also more significantly the amount of money it will take to accelerate the time of shipment.
The good news about last minute shipping is that it will get to your destination just as planned; the bad news is that the shorter the time frame the greater the cost. The closer it is to a major holiday when so many hundreds of thousands of others are expecting the same shipping services, the more the price goes up. So, in the end it actually does pay to wait - for the shipping company, that is.
