Shakira Tickets - Shakira Kicks Off World Tour In Support Of 'sun Comes Out'

Columbian songstress Shakira kicked off her Sun Comes Out (Sale El Sol

, in her native tongue) World Tour in Uncasville, Conn. on Sept. 17, and The Montreal Gazette reports that her rehearsals at Montreal's Bell Centre were flawless. Shakira and her band began rehearsing at Bell Centre in early September and delivered a final rehearsal on Sept. 15.

"From start to finish, the 33-year-old singer demonstrated the confidence, charisma and natural showmanship that have made her a world-class performer over the last 15 years," The Montreal Gazette raved about her show.

Fans of Shakira have been flocking to see her perform live ever since she emerged out of Columbia with her infectious debut single "Whenever, Wherever" back in 2001. Shakira will perform songs spanning her career with the backing of an eight-piece band on her current tour. Shakira tickets are available to see her in cities like Atlantic City, N.J.; New York, N.Y.; Miami, Fla.; Dallas, Texas; San Diego, Calif.; Santa Barbara, Calif. and more through late October. Shakira's tour will include a stop at New York's iconic Madison Square Garden and she will cross the pond to perform at London's O2 Arena in December.

Shakira's current road trip is in support of her forthcoming new album, Sale El Sol/The Sun Comes Out, which will arrive on Oct. 19. According to the singer's official website, the album will feature her record-breaking World Cup anthem "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" as well as her spicy new single "Loca." Shakira recorded "Loca," her rendition of Dominican artist El Cata's song "Loca Con Su Tiguere," in the Dominican Republic. Shakira also paired with U.K. rapper Dizzee Rascal for an English version of "Loca." Shakira Tickets - Shakira Kicks Off World Tour In Support Of 'sun Comes Out'

Dizzee Rascal recently chatted with Billboard.com about making a cameo on "Loca" and said he was "honored" to contribute to the Columbian singer's new album. "She's a bit of a trendsetter-she does loads of different things on a major scale. You'd expect her to use an American rapper [for the song], but she chose me. It meant a lot," Dizzee told Billboard.com. The rapper dishes out rhymes like "Chica caliente, Got me rapping to merengue / I feel so el presidente" on the track in between Shakira's vocals.

Shakira recorded the video for "Loca" in Barcelona, and was fined by the Spanish city for shaking her hips in a fountain! Pollstar.com reports that Shakira danced in Barcelona's famed Pla de Palau fountain with fans during a break from shooting her video, and fans posted the footage on YouTube-sparking criticism from city council! Shakira also got onto the back of a motorcycle without wearing a helmet for footage that was reportedly meant to be used in a promo for the song and may be fined by the city for both infractions.

Shakira's tour and album release follow a busy summer for the songstress, who recorded the official World Cup anthem and performed during the first-ever FIFA World Cup Kick-Off Concert in South Africa on June 10. Shakira took the stage after performances by veteran South African jazzman Hugh Masekela, Angelique Kidjo and Soweto Gospel Choir, reports Billboard.com. She opened her set with her smash single "She Wolf." South African hip-hop artist Tumo Molekane joined Shakira for "Hips Don't Lie" next and then she performed "Waka Waka (This Time for Africa)" with Afro-pop act Freshlyground.
