Reviews Of Registry Easy, Regcure, And Registry Mechanic

This review contains the strengths and weaknesses of three top Windows registry repair software products.

It can be a huge challenge comparing three different Windows registry fixer programs because most products deliver similar features. People spend a monumental amount of time researching to ensure that they are getting the best software for their money and are overwhelmed with the large amount of information on the internet about each product. In this review of Registry Easy, Regcure and Registry Mechanic we will focus on major features of importance and you can get smaller details about the products from their websites themselves.

No matter which of the three software programs you make the decision to use, you will be in the position to fix slow computer problems, crashing or freezing computer issues, delayed responses, slow start ups or constant rebooting, and rid of challenges of adding and removing software from your PC. The difference comes down to extras that a few of the programs provide and the number of definitions, or scanning recognition options within the software itself.

We rated the three Windows registry fixers in five total categories. These categories are simplicity of download and use, product support and service, exclusive features, scan and registry repair benefits, and flaws.

Category One: Simplicity of Download and Use

Each product was similar in this category. Downloading the products was easy and took up similar system resources to put them on our hard drive. No support was needed during the download process or when trying to understand the interface once we were in the software itself. Each feature had a clear button for navigation and explained features once clicked upon.

If we were novices at this, all three products, especially Registry Easy, would pass the grade of being simple to download and utilize.

There was no clear winner in the area of simplicity and download.

Category Two: Product Support and Service

The reason that we believe that this is an important topic area to consider is due to the fact that nobody wants to buy a product and find out that there is no support from the company once the purchase is made. By sending a time test email to each company we were able to see which company was most responsive in case we needed support later. Registry Easy won this category hands down. Registry Mechanic responded second, and RegCure took much longer to get back to us.

Category Three: Exclusive Features

Just as when you buy a car, the purpose of a vehicle is to keep you from walking as a primary goal. The same is true for Windows registry repair in the fact that repair is the first priority for most people. Just as you do with a car, you want additional bells and whistles with a product if you can get them at a reasonable price. In our reviews we wanted to be sure that registry repair requirements were sufficient as a primary goal and then see what additional features were offered for the price for each software program.

All three of the products had similar features for the registry repair itself. For example, each has a backup and restore feature in case you have the need to return to your pre-repair file status. Each has a built in scheduler so you can choose when you wants scans completed. Support files are also similar in the three products.

Registry Easy contains a BHO Manager with the ability to work with Internet Explorer to remove unneeded plug ins creating a slow start up of the system or slowing down web surfing. Registry Easy also offers junk file removers, evidence cleaners and duplicate cleaners for files and even a password recovery for MSN, Google Talk and other related passwords. In addition, Registry Easy also contains an optimizer for file download speeds based on connection speeds you use. Registry Easy wins this category due to optimization features for the price paid.

Registry Mechanic offers a drop down menu that will take you straight to help files if you are logged in. This is added ease of use for you. Registry Mechanic and Regcure are both Microsoft Certified Partners which adds credibility but is not a factor that will make a difference in impact due to the company they keep with Registry Easy.

RegCure has a detailed internet FAQ and help library on their website which is more detailed than the other two products combined. The issue is that there should never be a need to use such features if the software is easy to use and does what it is designed to do.

Criteria Number Four: Scanning and Repair Options

Due to Registry Easy having evidence scanners and junk file cleaners in addition to IE scan options, the other two products cannot compare in this area. For the basic and needed category of registry repair itself, all three products are similar. Scanning options on all three include COM and Active X entries, Uninstall entries, Font entries, Shared DLLs, Application Paths, Help Files information, Windows Startup items, File and Path References, Program Shortcuts, and File Associations.

They each contained scanning options for the most important file clusters within the Windows registry, so we give this category a tie if only focused on registry repair itself.

Criteria Five: Weaknesses

Registry Easy did not have a beefed up help section for users as much as the others had. Still, they were quickest to respond to inquiries and support was never needed during the process of using the product. Otherwise, this software was incredible.

RegCure came without many of the features included in Registry Easy but certainly did a great job as a registry fixer, which is what it was designed to do. Two scans and repairs were needed to clear all registry errors detected on our test system.

Registry Mechanic failed to find as many errors as the other two but did remove a DLL error that the other two products struggled with.

All of the software mentioned work with the new Windows 7 in both 32 bit and 64 bit.

Summary

We were elated by the performance of all three products. We had tested 21 products initially and the three reviewed here were our final selection. Of the seven top choices for us, the three registry repair software products reviewed here were our top picks.

Any of the three are great choices for you.
